Math literacy will bring you the confidence that comes with knowing the meaning the words of math. Every specialty has its own vocabulary. In baking, when the recipe calls for you to “separate 2 eggs” they don’t need to tell you “ How far apart!”
Speak the language of math with confidence. . .
For example, in the process for changing per cents to fractions . . .per cent is Latin for “out of 100” The 1 penny (one cent) coin reminds you it is 1 out of 100 ( $1.00)
Then, when given per cents ( parts of 100 ) such as: (25%) consider it parts of 1 dollar and to change it to a fraction it is 25 /100 25% or $0.25 = 25 out of 100 = 25 /100 = 1/4 (one fourth) or one " quarter " !
